Clicking/Popping Sound when turning, 2007 S550
Hello all,
Recently i've noticed a sound when turning to the left max or 3/4 of the way to max. It isn't a constant sound, it "pops/clicks" once during the entire turning movement. It doesn't do it when turning to the right however... Car drives straight, no wobble. However I have also had this strange humming sound at 30-40mph that was confirmed to be from the mid/front of the car and not the differential. 2 MB techs couldn't figure it out without asking to charge me for heavy diagnostic time that I didn't pay yet.
Has anyone ran into this problem before or can guide me thru diagnosing it?
Thanks

It sounds like a suspension issue (tie rod, control arm, worn bushing, etc). It really shouldn't take more than 5-10 minutes to figure out what it is. They just need to get the car on the rack, have another tech under the car, and turn the wheel back and forth a few times to figure out where the noise is coming from.
