Wheel Studs
Wheel Studs
Hello, I have a 2012 S550 4Matic and I am putting on 19 inch wheels. Replica AMG s63 wheels that where used during the 2007-2010 models? Anyways my original wheel studs are too long so I need shorter ones. Question comes down to this, is the wheel stud an M14 1.5, M12 1.5 or M14 1.25, M12 1.5.
I called the Mercedes Dealer and they said 14 x 1 that’s all the information they gave me.

2019 S63 4Matic+, 2018 E400 Cabrio, wardens car.
The safest way to know length requirement is to measure how much of the stud is coming out of the backside of the wheel. You need to compare this with the depth of the threads on the hub of the car. The bolt should go completely through the threaded hole of the hub but not beyond. If they are too long the bolts will interfere with the rear parking brake mechanism that sits behind the hub. You also want to make sure you have the proper type of shank on the bolt, a lot of the aftermarket wheels use a conical shank on the lug bolt while mercedes factory wheels use a ball shank. you do not want to mix these up or you will have all kinds of potentially very bad outcomes.
I went to a rim shop that specializes in that kind of stuff and they had the correct ones. I got regular hexagon heads the benz star shape strips easy.Mine were/are 27mm and have been fine for 3 years.
