Cameras questions

Hi,

I've got two questions :

1) in my S320 2008, i've a camera on top of windshield i think it is for nightvision, but is it the same camera for lines assist and read speedlimit road signs? because i've the nightvision but not those others options.. so maybe it need to be activate with STAR or something ??

2) is there any trick to activate my backup caméra without reverse gear ? I tried almost everything could not find..

Thank's !

There wasn't any lane keeping assist in 2008. If your car has Night Vision, then that's what the camera is for. In the US, our cars do not have the ability to read speed limit signs due to the style of the signs here. But it may be possible in Europe or other countries that have the round signs with the speed limit surrounded by a red circle. I'm just not sure if that was offered in the 2008 Euro version cars.

I think the 2016 and up can do it in the US or they use the same system that my Jeep uses to be able to tell you what is the legal speed limit on a road.

I'm fairly certain that there isn't any way for any cars in the US to read road signs. It must be GPS based.
