1995 S280 5-speed
Can't back up with the door open?
I was backing up into a parking space and opened the door to see how far I am from the curb but the transmission went into park by itself. Can this setting be eliminated?

W140 Mercedes S350, W221 S550 sport
After it goes into park while reversing, just tap the gear shifter back to R and it will stay there.
