Rear ended
So today on I-5 I was cruising along at around 60 MPH and all of a sudden some tweaker in a beat up Buick swerves in front of me and then slams on the brakes, I am guessing they were trying to get me to rear end them, anyway I slam on the brakes and a Range Rover behind me hits me hard, I think the worst and we both pull over to the side of the road. I get out of my car and look at the front of his car and it is really smashed up. I then look at my rear bumper and to my amazement there is only a scuff from his license plate. I could not believe it, no dents, no creases, no body gap issues, nothing. Guess it was validation that the S Class is a brick S*&^ house. Anyway, looks like I will need a new bumper cover and one of the reverse sensors as one of them popped off. My question is this, what should I claim in depreciation because of the fact that this will undoubtedly end up as a carfax blemish. I will be selling the car this spring and am worried about what this will mean for the value of the car. It is a 2012 S550 4Matic and I will sell it with about 55K miles on it. I have heard these cars take a big depreciation hit at 60K so want to trade it in on a newer model at that point. Thanks.
