S65 - are you supposed to hear turbos?

Please forgive my ignorance, I just purchased a 2007 S65, and it is my first Merc and first v12. I have read up on coil packs and ignition modules and the suspension, so I know to expect issues with those items at some point, but am wondering about the turbos. My problem/question is, I do not hear them... at all. The car seems to have a good bit of power, and if I really stomp on it, it will throw me back (at just about any speed I might have been going when I stomp on it), but I never hear what I would expect to hear (turbo whistle). Do the turbos in these cars run that quietly, or might mine simply not be working. Would fault turbos throw a CEL and code, or is a special reader other than OBD2 needed for turbo problems? Would bad turbos be obvious (noise, codes, etc.). I have never really had a really fast car before, so I do not know how fast this car is supposed to be (feel-wise), and as such, am not sure whether it is performing as it is supposed to or whether my turbos are simply not working and there are horsed to be gained.

The turbos on the S65 are very quiet for sure. When I first got my car I thought the same thing, where is the noise?
You can ever so slightly hear it if you are at a slow speed in a tunnel like situation and accelerating, then you can hear them spool up.
My car now is way more obvious since I removed my rear mufflers last year. When the turbos spool up you can hear them but just barely until they really push pressure. That's when my car actually makes a howl when the turbos are fully spooled up. I just couldn't stand having a AMG monster that I could not hear. My previous S55 was way louder than the S65.
I have also had Eurocharged tune my ECU & TCU. She is nasty. My only real complaint now is when you are fully spooled up and really on it pay attention to when you drop the throttle. If it is close to redline it makes for a harsh shutter when the turbos blow off. Now that I type all this I may go take a look at my motor mounts!
I always know my turbos are just fine if I stomp on the gas with my wife in the car and she yells stop it I am going to throw up! She still says to me why do you have a car that makes you feel sick to your stomach? My only response really is because it's awesome. Yea and I am in my 40's.

With your Eurotune... did it change throttle mapping? My S600 needs a lot of pedal travel to move out, even in "S" mode.

Not sure exactly what they do when they "tune" them, sorry I can't be of any more help there. I will say the power is pretty hard to control. If you step just a little to much into it off the line it gets jumpy.
The best way to describe this V12TT is angry she is angry at all times and I love it!

I can hear my turbos even at slight acceleration, but they're not very loud. I attribute this to the fact that I have a S600 and don't have the nice exhaust that your S65 has. If I had a louder exhaust it may drown out some turbo noise until I really get on the throttle
