Need Help my fellow members! W221 Issue with Engine stalling after shifting gears
Hello My fellow Members, I hope someone can help me figure out what is wrong with my W221. My vehicle is a 2008 model with 212k miles. This vehicle has had a transmission replacement at 100k from a mercedes dealership. I recently replaced all my brake pads (OEM) as well as New Aftermarket R1 Concept Drilled Rotors front and back and new brake sensors for front and back. After a week of driving I have a issue that I can not figure out and pin point the problem. I can start the vehicle with no issues, while in drive, everything works great. Then after I stop at a location, turn off engine and This is where my issues begin. I start (push button start) (push button start was replace a month ago) the engine, with no issue, Then I go from Park to Drive/Reverse and all the Cluster lights turn and Engine stalls. I would have to start engine back up and try switching gear again and same issue occurs. I have to try 3 to 4 time before It goes back to normal driving mode. I took the vehicle to Mercedes Dealer, They check to see if any codes appear and NONE, then they did a transmission service and said they only found small flakes in the transmission pan and the magnets were dirty. They stated transmission issue? However, I had no issue while in drive, no slipping of gears. Has anyone experienced the same issue with their w221? Hoping for any advice, Thanks in advance. Also, I took this vehicle to couple of Mercedes Specialist and they are all bewildered, some are saying it is electrical issue, others are saying mechanical issue. No codes are showing up or error messages.

w221 stalls when put in Drive when warm
I have similar issue. Bought a 2007 with 96K on it. Start and drive and it's OK. After it's well warmed up, stop, put it in park, put it back in drive and it stalls. Put it in reverse and it will go. It does have an after market Torque converter, MB Dealer said it needs a new transmission. I can get it to go if I give it 2k RPM with the brake on and treat it like a manual trans. It's like it is trying to go in 4th gear after it's warmed up. Valve body is OK. It runs great until you stop, it downshifts as it should, and sounds normal.
