S550 W221 remote key fob issue
Hello all
After leaving the car in the garage for about a month, the remote key fob was no longer working, I opened the car with the metal key and started the engine with no issue. Drove about 150 miles. After switching the ignition off, I was able to lock the car with the remote key fob, but 5 minutes later, the car was no longer responding to the key fob. I tried to replicate the problem by doing the following steps several times with the same result
1. Used metal key to open the door
2. Turned the engine on by pressing on the keyless go button: engine started
3. Pressed the lock and unlock button on the remote, no response
4. Turned engine off by pushing the keyless go button
5. Pressed the lock unlock on the remote, and noted that the central locking is responding to the remote
6. Got out of car closed the door and locked all door with the remote key fob with no issues
7. 5 minutes later car not responding to the remote
Anyone experienced the same issues? If so, what was the fix?
Note: I replace the key fob battery with new still no luck.
thanks in advance

Most likely the battery in the trunk is dead. It appears to not be holding a charge. The 2007 to 2009 vehicles had two batteries- The one under the hood is used to start the engine and theone in the trunk posers most of the accessories. I am not sure at what year they went back t a single battery (2010 or newer?). There have been several posts showing how to gain access to the trunk battery.
