Unfortunately, I do not know the proper description of the rod that comes out of the door when the door is opened. It is the rod that becomes visible when the door is fully opened, sits approx. in the middle of the door, between upper and lower hinge, connects to the door frame.
Appears to me that this chrome rod should have some stops that engage to hold the doors open. For some reason, when opening the doors on my car, they want to close by themselves unless the car is on leveled ground.
Is there a way to stiffen up the doors so they stay open and do not want to close on their own? Any adjustment one can make to possible tighten the travel on this rod?
Thanks in advance, greatly appreciate the help and input.

Not that I'm aware of. Are they loose at all, see attached bulletin. Here are the part #s for replacement if you should decide to do so.Originally Posted by S70Houston

Would you happen to have any replacement instructions as well for this, or is is pretty self explanatory?

MB doors stops are continuous. There are no pre-set spots where the door holds. Open the door to any angle and the door will hold.
