Front sunroof creaking noise at low speed - SOLVED
If you're getting a creaking noise that sounds like it's coming from your front part of the sunroof, here is one thing to try and to fix it. The pop up wind deflector has a long, thing metal rod/spring running all the through it. Over time, dust gets in there and it's the dusty metal rod rubbing on the plastic deflector innards. So, I used some spray, waterproof silicone with a straw attachment and there are little holes all along the bottom of the wind deflector. I only had to shoot a quick squirt in about 3 of them to fix the noise.
You can test for this particular noise/problem with the sunroof open and the car parked and off. EVER so slightly, push the wind deflector down, you should hear a creaking sound if this is your problem.
Good luck noise hunters!
PS, as you can tell, I HATE annoying squeaks and rattles in a car
