Ipod InterFace Issues

Hello,

So I recently became a new owner of a 2007 Mercedes S550 and the previous owner was reckless with much of the upgrades. Needless to say is that he/she did the Aux hack using Rca cables with so much electric tape that is downright ghetto lol. I have recently bought the oem Ipod interface with the all the wiring. It seems to be a plug and play install but for some reason I can't get it to work. I did not remove the Aux hack Rca cables. The Rca cables are still plugged into the factory harness at the various slots which is still making it functional. The problem I am having is that I plugged the oem ipod interface harness into the back of the cd changer and then the oem harness into the ipod interface and then go to try and select Aux on the radio. The Aux option comes up but the radio seems to not recognize the ipod interface at all. Yet the Aux hack works fine as like I said its still connected. Which leads me to my next couple of questions. Do I need to remove the Aux Rca Cables hack that he previous owner did in order to allow the oem ipod interface work properly? Also I am not sure if the oem ipod is getting any power as it doesn't seem to get warm to the touch or have any led lighting to indicate that its working . I have included pictures of what I have as part of the oem ipod kit. I borrowed the pictures from another poster cause they are exactly what I have the previous owner did in order to allow the oem ipod interface work properly? Also I am not sure if the oem ipod is getting any power as it doesn't seem to get warm to the touch or have any led lighting to indicate that its working . I have included pictures of what I have as part of the oem ipod kit. I borrowed the pictures from another poster cause they are exactly what I have the in the my car. Any help would be greatly appreciated .

iPod Interface

I would assume you would have to take it to the dealer or someone with a STAR/Xentry computer (I’m pretty clueless about those) and have them code the car to tell it that it has an iPod kit. My 2007 didn’t have the Aux menu in the Audio section until I took it to an Indy shop and had them code the vehicle. I would like more info on where you acquired the kit though as i’ve heard they’re quite rare.
