Dreaded Dash Rattle: 2008 S550
Hey guys I have an absolutely Pristine 2008 S550. It has recently developed an appreciable Dash rattle on the left hand driver side. Sounds like it's coming from around the instrument cluster or maybe the AC vent. I have read that the fix for this has to take it to the dealer spend a fortune where they pull things out, coat them with felt tape and send you home hoping that they have fixed the problem only for you to have to go back and spend more money! Before I start ripping things apart myself I wanted to see if anybody new of any common points that could be causing this vibration. In lieu of tearing things apart and possibly cracking an expensive piece of wood trim or vent, I'm going to go at it from underneath the kick panel and see if I can pinpoint the source. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Awesome information thank you I'm going to need it. Any idea as to which piece or component is usually the culprit? I'm thinking like maybe a piece of air conditioning ducting or even possibly something in the vent itself
