airmatic malfunction code 5283
I took my 08 s550 to the shop ran SDT and this is what came back. (AIRMATIC MALFUNCTION DISPLAYED. RETRIEVE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES W/SCAN TOOL: 5283 RECOVERY TIME DURING FILLING OF CENTRAL RESERVOIR IS TOO LONG.) shop says it needs new compressor they wants $780.00 for labor and parts but i was researching online and it looks like i can do this myself very easily with a arnott compressor for only 325 and a little elbow grease. I just need to know after i actually install it does it just start working or does it need to be reprogrammed with star ?

No need to program, in addition to Arnott link see attachments. BTW OEM part # is 2213201704 / relay 0025422319 to comparison shop.

konigstiger you are the man do you know what size bolts are used on engine skid plates/engine compartment paneling ? and maybe any other specific toold needed for the compressor job
