for the life of me cannot get garage door opener to work.

read the instructions per manual. cleared any pre existing codes... hold down remote and button I want to program at same time. Never works. I got it to remember the code once and even so the button would not open my door. does anyone else have any issues getting this to work? IDK why but German cars are always a PITA in this department. My Porsches are a pain as well. Got to aim the clicker at the front button and hope it works. Stupid

Most newer garage door openers use a rolling code and you need to press a button on the garage door mechanism as part of the programming the button in your vehicle. Look at the manual for your garage door opener and see if it shows a programming button. If it does, then carefully read the Mercedes programming instructions and it will show when you need to press the button on your garage door. Also be advised that the Mercedes opener has a very limited range and might not work unless you are much closer to your garage than your hand held opener.

See if it will close the door if already open. I had a similar issue with my W221 and W222, I think the windshield on these vehicles have something to do with it. If you get no results period, your garage door opener may be at its max limit for openers. I went through this when programming my W222, I could program the opener in the car, but could not get it to open or close the garage door. I reset the garage door opener to clear all codes and then was able to get everything to work. The only headache, was needing to reprogram everything because I cleared all codes.

Go on youtube, there are plenty of videos there that show you how to do it.

I had problems as well, and had to do this with the main units learn button. Eventually it worked out for me.

Welcome to the forum i am also new. It sounds like a frustrating issue. You might want to try reprogramming the <!--td {border: 1px solid #cccccc;}br {mso-data-placement:same-cell;}-->Garage opener in your car or checking for any interference in your garage. Others here might have more specific advice. Good luck with the fix.
