2 questions please

Driving my father in laws car for a few months. May buy it in near future.

2007 s550 base model

canadian car with Airmatic

115,000 km so 70,000 miles

Dealer serviced 90 year old owner.

Q1? How much whooshing and sneezing after shut off is normal?

Q2? Put in Drive and drove off yesterday afternoon. Was somehow in D1 on dash. Shut off and restarted and seems normal? I thought you needed paddles to engage or hold a single gear.

Thanks in advance

Larry

As far as the whooshing that seems to happen on mine every time I lock the car and sit there for a second. It’s the car leveling out from what I read.

If you accidentally touch the left paddle it will put the car in first gear. It’s totally normal. Holding the right paddle will put the car back in automatic mode.

Whooshing and hissing is normal. I can most of the time make it happen if I open a door after it’s sits for a little. Makes it look lower when parked.
