Yes, you'll need to do it from the menu.
Once it is down and confirmed working, you can set up the * key (asterisk) as a hot key to put it up and down. That key can have one of a few different functions.. somewhere in the menus you can pick what it does. It can repeat the last navigation directions audibly, put up/down the rear screen, etc. I have mind set to operate the screen as the other options were pretty much useless (I use Waze instead of the navi system, etc.)
