The Bluetooth Thing

Yes; that Bluetooth thing that looks like a kids ray gun and takes up most of the upper part of my center console.

Can I make it go away? Is there a part, a plug, a software thing or perhaps a bluetooth bit I can plug in somewhere (The iPod Interface in the glove box?) in the car that will take the place of that?

Any advice appreciated.

Hey folks, anyone out there have any info on this? I would love to get rid of that bluetooth device.

I'm not clear on what you're talking about. Can you send a photo or something?

Assuming you have a pre-facelift W221, the Bluetooth adapter is required if you want to use your Bluetooth capable phone with the COMAND telephone functions. The Bluetooth adapter was designed after the Mercedes-McLaren SLR. The Bluetooth menu and functionality that you may see referenced on the COMAND is for "Privacy Calling." If you have passengers in your vehicle and you wish to take a call private, you may use a Bluetooth earpiece that will pair to the COMAND and route the caller's audio to the earpiece.

About the only "glove compartment" thing you mentioned was the iPod adapter, and you can indeed get a 30-pin iPod to Bluetooth converter and steam music when selecting the AUX from the COMAND.
