07’ S550 amplifier issues.
Hello all! I have a new issues with my 07 S550. On Sunday I was driving through a torrential downpour and my radio turned off. I knew what happened as soon as it occurred. I went home and took the trunk apart to find the amp soaked in muddy water (I drove through probably almost a foot deep puddle that wasn’t noticeably deep until you were in it.) I dried everything off and put a heater and damp rid in the trunk to dry everything out. Now that it’s dry everything works except actual audio.
It’s weird because usually when the AGW dies you can’t change stations or anything. But my SAT, AM, FM, CD, MP3, and Aux all work. Just no audio. The fans on the amp are running and everything is dry now. I just don’t know what to try before I attempt to replace or fix the amp. Any tips for resetting would be awesome or troubleshooting would be awesome. (Also, if sending it to Becker audio to be repaired is a financially viable option vs buying a used one. )

Remove amp check all connecting points for corrosion, pull cover and check inside. BTW if you have not identified leak point, unclip ventilation grille to Teleaid backup antenna and check for leakage replacement part # 2218200775 if needed: https://restomods.com/listing/07-13-...308712869.html need VIN to supply compatible amp replacement part #s.

I’ve taken the amplifier out of the vehicle and the amp apart. The board looks relatively clean (honestly surprised) but after inspection I’ve found one point of wear or corrosion. I called Becker Audio and they said a repair would be $650. I’m cleaning the corrosion with isopropyl alcholol and a q-tip. I’m going to let everything dry a bit and plug it in and hope for the best. The wires coming from the bottom were very dirty but the connectors looked fine. Thanks for the help. Also, have any of you used M&B repair for the amplifier? Their quotes online are like $300 vs $650. Any input would be great, thanks konigstiger! Your input is also great on this forum.

MB W221. I have problem with my amplifier.
Hello to all. I am owner of MB S350 W221. I have problem with my amplifier. When I go to service to make test and check for issues, they told me it was MOST of Fiber optic. So I decide to open and to see inside. I have some pictures that I will put here to ask for opinion!
I dont have water problems, but never know! I see the black spot on the board and on the other side is VOGT transmitter! Any chance to work again, if its from burned power?

they die - they designed it too...
some believe they can repair, I've not seen or heard of a long term successful fix

you got it fixed? Working now? I’m having the same problems. No sound, and radio station not showing but the navigation is showing but no sound. I’m going to try and bypass the voice module and the satellite module tomorrow when the MOst optic loop from Amazon arrive. I will update here tomorrow.

hello, I have similar problems. I just checked behind my amplifier, I removed the fiber optic connector and I saw the red light blink three time. Does this mean the amplifier is still good? Also, I didn’t see the fan moving . This where I’m confused. Is the fan supposed to be spinning? My fan is not spinning and the crown on display is blank and no sound.
I trying to do all option to make sure that my amplifier is the problem before spending money A new one. Thanks

no sound and no radio stations showing = ALWAYS a dead amp in the boot, behind the left hand rear wheel.... they FAIL just as designed on EVERY single W221 ever made.....
