Reduced power version
I have recently purchased a 2007 W221 320cdi. One of the factory fitted options is Code 922 - Reduced Power Option.
Does anyone know what's the reason for Mercedes offering this "option" and what the power is reduced to, and more importantly can it be removed.

It appears that you have a taxi engine OM604 D22 with power reduction to 55kw 75hp . My guess is so it will get better gas mileage and you'll have to remove the engine and transmission to get rid of the option.

Thanks Ninamashr, do you mean power reduced by 55Kw, there is defiantly a fortune of power and the car is not lacking in power, but you can never have enough. According to google the OM604 D22 is a 4 cyl, I have the 320 Cdi which is a V6 diesel.
