Aux in/Ipod interface help

I have an '09 S550 that does have the Bluetooth interface and the iPod integration kit installed. The telephone feature works fine, but the music interface does not. I've tried the tune2air interface as well as a simple 30pin to lightning adapter with my iPhone with no luck. It seems as though there is not power to cable when I switch to AUX since the pairing light never comes on the tune2air. What am I missing? Is there a fuse or a switch that I need to look for?

Did it ever work? Was it installed from the factory? I'm asking because people did retrofit (I did!) and maybe a wire is unplugged in the back where it goes in?

I just bought the car with very low mileage from the original owner. The window sticker shows the $425 iPod integration kit. I don't know if the 89 year old gentleman every used it.

seems to me that something is loose. If you have an older ipod, plug that in directly and see if it lights up the ipod screen with a Mercedes Symbol.

The car doesn't recognize anything plugged into the iPod cable.
