2008 S600 - No Continuity from Alternator to Battery +Terminal

Hello everyone. First post.....just bought a 2008 S600 and found out that starter battery was not charging. Proceeded to replace alternator after taking apart the prefuse box on the right side by the battery and confirming all internal fuses were working. I have that last screw to remove from the alternator that requires the engine to be lifted....before lifting the engine, I checked continuity between starter battery positive terminal and the big + cable out of alternator. To my surprise, there was no continuity. Anyone have any ideas before I start searching everywhere? Much appreciated.....Jeff

There are some big fuse related to battery either below carpet in the trunk or below carpet of front pasenger seat, you need to remove carpet and check continuty for these fuses.

Good to know that is good now Jeff, can you let us know detail fixing for the problem and location of the fuse?

I am embarrassed to say that I was checking the wrong cable for continuity.....When removing the alternator on an s600, one of the steps is to remove the air pump above it and the accompanying ground cable. This ground cable is very slightly similar to the alternator positive cable. After 8 hours of working on the car, I guess I wasn't as sharp as I could have been.

On the 2008 S600, there is a 400 amp fuse hidden inside the "pre-fuse box" on the right side of the car between the starter battery and fender. You must take that pre fuse box out and open it up (plastic tabs along the sides). The fuse is inside and not visible from the outside.
