Car was vandalized via the sunroof. Body shop has replaced glass, motor and frame with all new genuine mbz parts. Sunroof won’t open. When button is pressed it lifts up momentarily, like its going to slide back but then stops and goes back to close. Any ideas? Does it need to go to MBZ dealer for calibration issues? Any help would be appreciated!

2 used motors and 2 frames were installed, each time nothing worked. Ins., finally approved new mbz parts the only thing used is glass. Still didn’t work. Body shop thinks used glass is slightly warped, but ins won’t approve new glass. When motor is not connected to glass you can slide glass back and forth without problem. The only thing that works when motor is connected is the “vent” function. When you try to open sunroof you can hear motor trying to work and then shut off.

The body shop needs to have access to a MB Tech's workstation to diagnose the issue. If they don't have access to one, then its over to the either a Benz specialist shop (Cheaper) or to a MB dealer ($$$$).

I have a 2012 CL550 with only 10k miles, the sunroof has begun to rattle, when I push up with my hand on the rear of the glass panel it stops. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated! Thank you in advance!

I know this is a little late, forgot I posted here. Body shop sent car to dealership, they needed to recalibrate the motor/system. Works just like it did when brand new.
