So I bought this S600 (cheapest in the country at the time at $10K) with 97K miles on it. Ive had to do a lot of work so far to iron things out but she is coming along. To date I have rebuilt the coil packs, put in new spark plugs, full transmission service and transmission mount, power steering accumulator, valve cover gaskets and wheels/tires. I still need to replace one front wheel bearing and the front lower control arms. Then I will tackle the engine mounts in my garage and probably make a DIY video. At some point I am going to do an ABC flush and both accumulators. Here are a couple pics of the project ride. This replaced my 264K mile S550.
Hokie smokes! It's my car's twin! The designo porcelain is super hard-to-find and 10k is a mysteriously low price. My 2009 is for sale right now at a Car Guru's "good" price of just over 20k with just about the same mileage (https://mbworld.org/forums/market/765627). I love the piano black wood and light leather, and I searched for months just to find one in good shape. Congrats on the car!
Thanks everyone for the compliments. It was cheap because it needed a ton of work and still does. I also had to buy new wheels as the ones on it were Chinese copies and bent. I got these OEM wheels off eBay. Also need to remove the dash and replace it due to leather shrinkage. Its definitely a project. I did drive it to Southern Florida this last week and put 2000 miles on it. So smooth. I got it tuned by Renntech and what a difference. Later I plan to do speeddriven down pipes and intercoolers to try and pick up even more power.
