Possible Command Issue?
I have 08 with 79000 miles and it has been trouble free for the last four years except the front airmatic, oil filter housing gasket, control arm and drag link which I think all are wear and tear items.
Since yesterday command screen has been acting weird, when I have it on Audio with radio dials in the middle of the screen, the joystick cursor won't stay up or down to change it to Navi or Phone in the top of the screen and to change audio options in the bottom of the screen.
I can use the Navi/Phone button on the center console without any issue, and when command screen is anything but Audio, the joystick works fine.
When I checked the battery voltage thru instrument cluster using secret menu, it was at 11.9 to 12.1 and I thought that the battery may be the culprit although it's less than three years old MB battery.
I was ready to go buy the battery but when I checked the voltage directly from the trunk, it was 12.4 to 12.5 which I think it's more than fine.
Alternator looks fine with 14.0 volt with engine on.
Another issue I've noticed is that when I answer the phone thru command, I can hear the other party but they can't hear me thru command.
Also, the radio sounds fine before answering the call, but the sound doesn't come back after I hung up the phone until I turn off the power of the command and turn it back on.
Does anyone have a clue where to start?
Thank you

I think problem is the Voice Control Module, part#2218703887
Does anyone know if it needs the coding or programming after replacement?

Should be plug & play however, if you’re purchasing used and experience problems may need software update via MB Xentry/DAS (diagnostics).

I know it's plug and play but since I don't have Xentry/DAS, I hope it won't need programming.
I'll update here in a couple of days.
Thank you for your help.
