ESPis not working but the light is off
I have w221 S450 2008 4matic
I noticed the ESP is not operating as the car is easily slipping without any activation to the ESP. The weird thing is that the dashboard is normal, with no warning light.
However, when scanning, I got 5106 L6/1 left speed sensor carry out visual inspection.
changed the sensor, no result. then changed the wheel bearing also the same problem.
The ESP will work only one time after clearing the error, then the comes back to the same behavior.
when I am monitoring life data, I v noticed ( data is not available reading) from both front sensors for a fraction of a second.
ABS is perfectly fine
No Dash Light
steering wheel is always light (never get heavy)
life data seems good
voltage is more than 13 v
tried to reset the angle sensor with no result.
error is always stored will comeback after driving for a while
Help Please

it seems that if there is a short to chassis both sides disappear
I see this case often
do not focus on the sensors and wheels
keep in mind that many wires have their own colors
follow the wires from the speedsensor, they should go to a plug
disconnect plug
go to a module
try to locate the other side of those wires, eventually with a tester
unplug the plug containing those wires and test them one by one, also with chassis to verify if they might short on chassis
do both sides
