MOST ring fails on hot days
Frequently, when I leave my car in the sun, the audio system conks out after playing music for 10 seconds or so after startup. Turning the car off for 5 minutes and starting it back up allow sound to come through again for a few seconds, and then it usually dies again. Radio, voice control, etc. are all inoperative, so it looks like something on the MOST ring is dying but I'm not sure what. I've taken the amplifier out of the car and checked for any signs of liquid, damage, corrosion, etc. and I've confirmed that the amp's fan works just fine. The issue is definitely heat related, as the car went all winter without a problem (the issue appeared late last summer).
Can anyone provide me some information on the MOST ring in the 2011 S550? I have a MOST bypass loop, so if I can get a list of components on the ring and their locations, I could probably try and bypass them next time the MOST ring dies. This should help me isolate it down to one component that's overheating.

everything works bar the sound and the radio station names and numbers have vanished but all other elements work ???
if so its the amp in the boot that's dying, they all do it
and if you open up an new one vs a dead one they look the same, you never see the cause of the failure... if you clean of the dust on the old one (and we not talking about water destroyed one just clean used vs new)

I think if any MOST component fails, the entire ring fails and the symptoms are always the same regardless of the failed component. Basically, I’d like to confirm the amp itself is dying before spending $1k on a new amp...

One way to troubleshoot is with a can of freeze spray. A can of compressed dusting spray held upside down will do it too. Hit each suspect component with enough cold air to cool it down and see if you can narrow it down to one part of the system.

why not answer the question posed ?
when you loose sound, if lost from ALL sources AND the radio display looses all it characters ? then its 100% the amp. They ALL DIE and that's HOW you know

they went from 2 battery's, a small one under the bonnet and massive 25kg hidden one in the boot,
in later cars these tend to have one big battery in the front and one aux battery (somewhere) and by the big battery the control module sits beside it and they go wrong... and cost a fortune

MY09 main battery in engine compartment, backup battery in dash, no power supply control module. If main battery checks fine best to have someone pull fault codes to definitively diagnose MOST ring problems or consumer shutoff if this is what you are complaining about. If you want confirmation post VIN.

Original OP was complaining about radio turning off after several minutes this can be caused by weak battery, system shuts off consumers to save power. You never specified exact problem you are experiencing so assumed this was part of it.

MB data card lists equipment, engine & transmission serial #s, color codes, etc. If you have not already done so have someone do a quick test using MB diagnostics codes to pull fault codes.

Both EPC and MB parts source say 2215400401 is not valid for your vehicle. 2219006702 central gateway (CGW) current part # is 2219006702 requires Xentry (MB diagnostics) to transfer data from existing unit to replacement.

pull oil filler cap off to see the cam chain, and put a socket on the crank pulley.....
if it shows in diagnostic, you may be able to see live data of the cam position as you turn it over..... might want to be careful it doesn't start whilts playing...
