2006 with no aux/ipod connector, looking to get aux and iphone control

So I have a 2006 S500 , its loaded with options but the original buyer decided audio inputs werent a concern. Ive scowered the glovebox and the command menu and I have no options or visibility of Aux / ipod anywhere.

Im looking to add both aux and an old school ipod kit (I use a bovee 1000 in my range rover and it works perfectly, want to basically replicate that experience) , looking for track name display, folder browsing if possible and the steering wheel controls need to forward/back.

Im handy enough with electronics, I have no experience coding a merc but if coding cables are cheap im willing to aquire the tools to operate the cable.
whats my best way forward ?

In my car the connection is in the right top inside the glove box when the door is opened. That is where the cable is plugged in.

Eric, you may get a better response by posting in w220 forum, as that is the forum for 2006 sclass. You have this posted now in w221 forum, 2007 to 2013.

S500
the W221 5.5 litre V8 came out in Europe in 2005 and is called an S500

there was NO media option available to buy when it was built, eventually they made a bodge on hack that is too quiet and only integrates with the steering wheel buttons and the speedo display
its very rare and you need a even harder to find wiring loom (you may well find one now.... because so many are no being scrapped as too costly to keep on the road and or worn out)

then they did an interface 2 that even more rare !!! its goes the same audio level as the other sources and allows the night vision on the reversing camera to function (if you have the alloy camera from 2005 to 2008 the first interface forgets to switch on night support....)

happy reading

Luckily managed to score all the parts on ebay for 43 euro its the ipod 1 version but if im only losing night mode on the rear cam its not too bad. , have the retrofit harness, interface and the ipod cable. It came from a 2006 S320 so I should be all good by model years. Can anyone point me to the easiest way to remove the radio unit where it goes behind ?
