S 2007 550 - Transmission

Hello MB World,

I need your help in identifying issues with my Mercedes S 2007. Yesterday all of a sudden i started feeling jerks while driiving in my car and after driving a while the car stopped moving at all, then i had to put it in manual and brought it back in gear 1. the gears are shifting, but seems the gears are slipping as the rpm goes but car doesnot move.

i connected my Icarsoft MB2 and it says that Gears slipping, and once i got into the data stream i saw that the temprature of oil was 90 Degrees Centigrade. CAn anyone help here what could be the issue ? is it due to the low Gear Oil ? or there is something else.

Any help would be appreciated

I would fill it with oil first. Had the same issue. Almost. Mine never hesitated to move, but it was feeling, like clutch is slipping. 1.5 liter of oil was missing.

Unless there is a leak, these transmission do not usually have problems with low fluid. Now, it wouldn't hurt to check the fluid level. I don't want to be the one to tell you this, but if fluid level is OK and your transmission is slipping....... It will probably need a rebuild. There are several things that can fail with high mileage transmissions.

Hi
Just a quick update,Just went to the mechanic and found out hat there was only 1 liter of oil and that too in a very bad shape, i dont know where the rest of the oil gone as there was no leak observed. he filled up the oil to maximum and now the transmission is working fine.

I again check the TCM and found out that the Oil Temprature is around 110 Degrees Centigrade. is this normal? also note that its a very hot and humid country where i am living where temprature now a days is 48 Degrees Centtigrade.
