Are Bosch FR7KPP33U correct for a W221.176

I have a 2012 S600. It is a W221.176 with the M275.953 engine. Parts container has the Bosch FR7KPP33U ( with a cross reference part number of 0041591403) for $172. They say they fit.

They also have the Bosch FR7K1332S which I know will fit for $250.

anyone know the difference?

Thanks for your time,

It’s good to understand that Bosch USA and Bosch Germany are essentially two separate companies selling different parts. Bosch USA sells to the aftermarket and typically believes all spark plugs for the USA must be resistor plugs ... see the R in the part number.

Mercedes typically never fits resistor plugs and almost always the only way to get the actual plugs fitted at the factory is via a Mercedes dealer. This happens with BMW motorcycles, too and probably others. Typically the specified plug is listed in your owners manual and you should verify the exact part number there. I bet there is no R in the number, but I could be wrong.

if I’m correct, personally I would see only one choice, that is parts from a dealer. It should be about the correct part and not the cheapest almost part. Finally, “iridium” is hype, nothing more.
