Question on Aftermarket Warranty
Hey all.
Hope life is good.,
I just picked up a 2013 S550 4Matic.
Absurdly gorgeous. I can get 3 years or 45,000 miles from CNA National with they work with ev very day and love for $5,960.
Does that sound good?
Any thoughts on these warranties? I spoke with the Service manager and he said they are the easiest people in the world to work with. Said they approve claims right over the phone.
I can try to skate by for 3 years when I will get another or I can have peace of mind. Not wondering when a light will go on.
Any input appreciated.

Sounds like a reasonable price for the warranty depending on the level of coverage, and I'm in the warranty business. CNA is a decent company, not one of the many subpar warranty administrators marketed by used car dealers. Should you buy it depends a little on your mechanical ability to fix things on your own and your financial resources. If you were my elderly mom comfortably in retirement and doesn't know what a torx wrench is I'd say buy it. I'm rather handy and if I had 6k lying around I'd put it into a roth ira instead of buying a warranty.
FYI, the $5,960 price is negotiable. Offer them $5,000 and see what they say.

I think you have to have a warranty and mine is four years or +50K more miles from my purchase date. I paid just over $5K and it has repaid about $7500 so far on my S600. I am in for 2 1/2 years so far. I don't think I would own a used Mercedes without a warranty. I have found the reimbursement to be arbitrary. They covered a radiator but not a ABC hose, they covered engine and transmission mounts, a pulsation damper and both front lower control arms on different occasions but only 1/2 of an alignment twice (go figure), so it is often very strange and I think dependent on the staffer doing the claim. I would also try to nibble down on price but definitely go for the better plan over any plan based in Texas.
