I am assuming you have Airmatic. I had both my front ones fail but not at the same time. I replaced them with Arnott's and was actually able to get them at Oreilly's auto parts stores. Both times they were able to get them within a few hours. If you are mechanically inclined then its no big deal. The second one i did in under 1 hour. The price for yours should be around $650 a piece with $200 core. I actually took my old one out before picking up the new one and avoided the core.

Good luck.

wanted to share my experience as I was in the same situation in June..I don’t recommend going the cheapest route like I did but it’s worth mentioning. I was able to replace both front air springs for about $475. I did the work myself, they have been on for about 6 months now and about 7000 miles and they feel identical to the oem bilsteins.

just remembered, the first one I received was defective from the factory. The arm that held the ball joint was rotated 90 degrees in the wrong direction..after I got the replacement unit, all was well.

When you state the 'cheapest route' are you referring to brand, and if so which brand?

basically, just went on google and bought the cheapest pair of w221/w216 4matic air struts they could find..I’m pretty sure they were about $475 shipped..there is no brand, at that price point they are all the same.
