Here is the transmission service history on papers:
Oil and filter replace:
2008 - Under warranty at 48000 miles - N/A ltr (dealer)
01/2016 - 98000 miles - 11 ltr (indi)
11/2016 - 140000 miles - 7 ltr (dealer)
12/2020 failure at 145751 miles
Non of the work I have seen with my own eyes. I trusted blindly.

do you have the bill for the filter, the sump bolts and the rubber gasket each time... the bolts tend to snap second use
48k miles is late in miles, early in life... and the fact it was in warranty sounds bad !!!! they wouldn't normally. Did you own from new and how old. A number of Mercs were afflicted with a faulty radiator from the factory (valeo I think), the integral trans fluid cooler and engine rad was wrong and some engine coolant leached into the gearbox. This usually destroys it!. I wonder if this happened and they just did a fluid change ….and this led to the ultimate failure
There was a software update 19th week of 2007
I thought they took 8 litres (but that's a guess from memory). There is a good few litres in the TC without a drain bung and my understanding is a w221 doesn't have one, only empty, fill, drive 10 miles, empty do the filter and fill will get your there... that's what BMW do, they call it a double flush
they are so badly made 30k miles between is the reco interval - even so you shouldn't blame yourself, they ought to go 50k between without destruction happening

2008 1st AT oil change under warranty at 48000 miles, N/A ltr, UK dealer note in service booklet, no bill handed to me.
Second owner (elder) in Cyprus 04/2014 - 12/2015 no records unfortunately.
I bought it 12/2015 and used it for a taxi for a year.
Indi 01/2016 - 98000 miles AT oil qty 11, filter, gasket, radiator fill qty 1. No screws
Dealer 11/2016 - 140060 miles AT oil qty 7, screws 6, filter, gasket
12/2020 failure at 145751 miles
BTW the car is asking for coolant replace since it's 15 years old.

Funny thing is there is already a drain plug on my TC. The indi show me. The dealer was just too lazy to turn the engine to locate it.. Transmission 722902 00 736679

I was told mine didn't have one and its relatively early this was made 4 days before my car... 722904 00 895203 22 Sept 2006
