2006 Mercedes benz w221 instrument cluster control unit is faulty.
Hi.
I had a 2006 Mercedes benz w221. Currently this car have symptoms of distronic is not working, night vision is not working and my speedometer and odometer is not working. I don't know what would be the caused. I hope someone could help me out. Recently I had use before others mercedes w221 s class instrument cluster on my car for testing purposes as I am doing lcd repair on it. And some of the car have distronic which I assume is the radar system which my car doesn't have it. And after install and remove different instruments cluster and finally I install back my original instrument cluster now it shows my odometer, speedometer is not working at all. But my signal, warning, rpm all is working fine. I hope someone could help me out. Thanks. Currently I had a fault code saying my instrument cluster control unit is faulty and the consumer shut off is active. Please advice. I greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

the main cluster is an LCD screen, all the others are normal gauges - there was a hardware fault on the early cars 2007 or earlier , it presents itself in cold temperatures. With a dark image / purple tinge to the main LCD display.... a software update bodge forcing it to full brightness was the nasty workaround Merc used, negating the screen back light adjustment unless the lights are on and its dark.
distronic plus (active cruise) and night vision are expensive options. They are not std. Ordinary cruise control not working is common on a Mercedes. abs speed sensors issues and or a failed brake light switch is normal problem. The faults you have may not be connected???
