Hi. I’m looking for someone who can help me doing module updates on my W221 as recently front passenger window stopped working and my iCarsoft won’t show any faults so I believe that software update should help. Any thoughts?
early cars had a bug (low thermal cutout threshold to cut out the window if the motor gets hot)
some in the states think ambient temp can get the bug to show, but extreme use and or maybe trying to move when its FROZEN ????? may have popped the thermal trip and they don't reset themselves !!!!
you need someone will OLD kit and the right update.... or to do it correctly On-Line Xentry dealer diagnostics to check and VERY likely flash all 4 door modules with the later software release
if its on 2006 software there is NOTHING to do but update it and they all work again
you probably have software on left front of 2214421832 and need 2214424132 which came out a year after it was made
very few are open over Christmas.... STAR at reading is very good. I've not heard anyone in you area, main dealer OUGHT to do for free. they won't, but might so it cheap as it should have been done in warranty
Mine is 2006 and it happened day after day with no real reason.
I’m not fancy to even call dealer as they’re useless in my opinion. When I called them to ask about gearbox software update and even when I stated that there is no faults etc. as I’ve already scanned with my diagnostic they still wanted to charge me for a full checks, diagnostic etc and before they even get to the point my quote was nearly £500 without give me a price for gearbox software update.. and still didn’t want to tell me the price for it 🤯 so I said THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR HELP and ended this pointless conversation

I visited your site but I couldn’t find any info with price list etc. I don’t have any Merc hardware, using MacBook (probably Windows is required) etc and changing my cars quite often so spending hounded of £££ for set up isn’t exactly what I’m looking for. The reason I bought my Icarsoft is because it’s for all makes..

It is counter-intuitive to me that a module update will solve this problem. Also, there could be several issues preventing the window from working which would not register as a fault.
If your iCarsoft shows "live data" or "actual values" for the passenger door control module, then that may reveal your problem. If the iCarsoft does not show this data, then consider buying the similar but far more versatile Foxwell NT 510 Elite for about $110.
icarsoft shows all modules but couldn’t see any open circuit etc which usually pointing the problem. I’ve read most posts about windows stoped working in W221, people fitted new motors, modules with no success and finally software update does the trick..

Yes, you must email there to get all details, but I see this might not meet your needs
I just pointed out investing a couple of hundreds is nothing compared to the savings you make
good tool = good work
and forget the dealer
and updating modules is important and sometimes mandatory as these are fixes on problems same as on Windows OS or any other software

Hmmn...I've got a lot to learn about my new-to-me S600.
Anyhow, if you don't get a Star Diagnosis setup consider upgrading your iCarsoft to the Foxwell. I find my Foxwell duplicates nearly all of the functions I commonly use Star Diagnosis for, and it can fit in my car's glove box. .
Interesting.. which model of Foxwell is doing module/software updates etc? I wouldn’t mind to upgrade my iCarsoft to Foxwell as they’re also working with all makes
I had this problem with the windows, rear passenger, then rear driver. Updating the software for the door fixed the problem. Also just updated software in the rear SAM. This is how a Star system pays for itself in no time.
