my w211 shows "service brake visit workshop" on the dashbroad. when I use FOXWELL to check the code, it show C2131 (pressure reservoir is faulty). after that I changed the "SBC Brake Pressure Accumulator" by myself. but the "service brake visit workshop" is still on the dashbroad. please help me. big thanks.
wrong forum you have an E class with nasty brakes... SBC is basically a cross between normal brakes and a Citroen with the driver pressing a switch and nitrogen putting the brakes on, rather than the driver creating the brake pressure
the error you have is NORMAL on the w211 with SBC brakes
you have two common issues with these brakes
1) designed to die software switched off the brakes !!! USA got warranty extension and new parts to get around this
2) a battery back up gets old and needs to be replaced its under the windscreen washer bottle... its purpose is to help apply the brakes when the Gas sphere accumulator has lost pressure
I just asked a garage if they ever changed those spheres, they said very rarely.... but if the gas is low the pump grumbling to build pressure should be very common.... this loss of nitrogen is what killed princess grace of Monaco
