Command Navigation Radio
I own a 2008 S550. A year an half ago my radio would cut off and on every 5 seconds. Today I had the command navigation radio replaced and problem solved. I brought the unit used and noticed when I use the navigation all the past location were from the previous vehicle. When I put the car in reverse, the back up camera doesn’t work. Also I have massage seats and all of those options are gone and it just shows lumbar adjustment and when you change it, it goes back to zero. Do i need to reset or reinstall anything to get my old settings back?

My best guess is, you'll need STAR to do an initial startup and perhaps control module programming. However, first try to do a system reset in the "Vehicle" menu. That erases user data and, I think, reboots NAVI and gets everything "talking" to each other.

dynamic seats and the rear camera are options... as the menus show in comand, if the vehicle the unit came from was lower spec then they aren't turned on (so currently don't work). Small job but needs specialist equipment and a bit of experience to do it right

Hello everyone ,
i have 2011 Mercedes Benz S500 4Matic the CD or DVD changer went bad i purchase one on Ebay it come of 2013
i replaced everything is working except NAVIGATION it ask for Navigation Software DVD i went to the dealer they don't Have it
they even try on line didn't find any . my question is where can i buy dvd software for navigation . they have on Ebay for 2007 up to 2009
but nothing for 2011 . thank you all

the later NTG3.5 unit is updated by DVD readily available !!! they are even cheap to buy direct BUT the later car needs an activation code to load them and this is the dealer ONLY expensive bit.
however the world of IT moved about a million miles and the code used back then can almost be cracked by your grandmother using a ball of wool and some knitting needles.... scout out the many Nav based forum and you find tools on websites you probably shouldn't download and can DIY, or some pay 20 bucks to some Eastern European underworld crime gang and they email it back having sent 2 seconds pasting you VIN in a version then have
I expect this will let you find stuff…. or at least explain it (these days u have to register to see anything)

you need the maps for your region
you need the code
you need the car running or on powerful supply to keep alive
the maps are not the operating software
the comand unit update has nothing to do with maps
all the NTG3.5 harddrives fail, if you don't have an image of the drive you have to buy a working replacement comand unit
there are repair places than can replace the harddrive but they don't do it for customers - they sell working ones (having replaced the drive with an image they have)
USA gave up mapping for this unit in 2015 (the older NTG3.0 system went to 2019 in Europe) - someone clever could put the 2019 mapping info into a NTG3.5 disc
