New W221 owner

Hey everyone, a couple weeks ago I pulled the trigger on a 13' S550 4.6TT with 87k miles. Coming from a W220 S500, there's a slightly noticeable difference in power But, overall, it seems like a rock solid car that is very comfortable to drive. It's also a rare moment for me when I actually purchased a car from a dealer, most of the time I buy from individuals as I'm always hunting for a weird, specific car that wouldn't normally pop up on a dealer lot. Looking forward to learning more about the platform.

Must’ve been something in the air, as I just purchased same year/model myself 👍👍

I did the same for '12 model last month, LOVE the car....the presence, the 'feeling' of it while driving, the power, and all the gadgets!!! I've been digging around on the archives of this site trying to learn all about these before and after the purchase too.

I too came from a W220 to the 2012 W221 and the tech in this car plus the HUGE advance in quality makes this car a keeper.
Car is much more powerful over, 130 more horses and love the fender arches, distronic plus makes traffic jams much less irritating.
The seats actually massage, the sound system is A+ and I like the paddle shifters.

Congrats to both of you. you have the best of the best in the W221 line. For nearly 5 years I have owned a 2010 and it's been fantastic. I think the W221 is destined to be a classic. It's the last great big body Mercedes with truly unique body styling and has enough technology where you have all the toys but it's not overbearing like the newer models.

It was in the air already last year in May when I purchased my 2013 model.

This car styling is probably the best S-Class they ever made. The 220 is not bad either but this one is just something else.

The new models I don't like at all. Mercedes went to this "rounded corner" design and made the sedan fleet all look the same. From distance you don't know if it is an S or C-class.

Newbie dudes we need pictures and “your list “ of things to do. Ok if nothing on the list. Enjoying the car is number 1.
