Have a question about my 2009 s550 4 matic. So I had my brake solenoid change to which the dealership had to change the conductor plate transmission fluid and filter. Now my car is back to going into gear with a hard shift when engaging into gear and a funny noise when shifting as I’m driving any feedback on my issue will be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Conductor plate (shown) houses solenoids however, lower valve body affects shifting may need replacement. Harsh shifting can be caused by bore wear that allows pressure loss in turn affecting clutch apply timing, resulting in harsh engagement. This is why your reset attempt(s) offered temporary resolve, dealer should have replaced control unit in its entirety. Sonax offers an alternative fix if you can find a capable independent: https://www.sonnax.com/valve_body_layouts -> mercedes -> 722.9

Great info...my conductor plate needs replacing... I was going to order my plate from FCP Euro since they have a lifetime warranty on all their parts and from the looks of it you have to really analyze your valve body as well for wear and tear

you have to put the car immobiliser info back in a different electroplate (theft dependant part in Merc speak) if you don't fit new solenoids, you should remove each and clean the metal / other debris from their gauze filters

ideally check gearbox adaptions before tackling work as it will give a clue as to how far gone it is - and maybe try a solenoid and see if the box copes (they wear out) and sometimes the box might be ok
