Question regarding the fragrance atomizer canister in my 2015 S-Class. A few months ago I refilled the atomizer with some essential fragrance oil. Put the setting on "2" and the intermittent release of the fragrance did make the car smell great. The fragrance level slowly dissipated after a couple of months. However, when I refilled with the same fragrance, I now cant smeall anything on setting 2 or the highest setting of 3. And after about 2 weeks, the fragrance level has not dropped any at all. Any ideas as to why it might have stopped working? Is there anyway to see if the canister is not functioning properly? Could the non-mercedes fragrance have caused it to stop working?
I would appreciate anyone who has any experience with this or any ideas in general.
Believe it or not have someone test system using MB diagnostics. No codes, smallest vacuum leak can cause the system to not to pull fragrance from the bottle. May need to disconnect hose and firmly reconnect connections need to remove glove box. BTW 222 should be posting here: https://mbworld.org/forums/s-class-w222-178/
Yes, we plebes driving W221s are limited to carrying good smelling passengers. I favor the “high end wife” scent over “Kid who had burritos for lunch”. And be careful, the “stripper” scent can leave little bits of glitter that are a real ***** to remove from perforated leather.
