Cabin Temperature Sensor

So, my car starts having these issues. The multicontour seat pump/reservoir last week, now the A/C stopped giving cool air when in AUTO.

When this just out-of-the-blue happened yesterday evening I immediately suspected the interior temperature sensor as I was able to get cool when set to LO (Max Cool). It just does not control the fan automatically but it was clear the compressor was doing what it is supposed to do.

Got home and connected my iCarsoft MB II and found what I suspected. All different air vent temperature sensors were reading 21C-24C but the cabin air temperature sensor was at 6C-8C.

I have searched all I can think of but cannot find any information about the location of the sensor. I did find a site saying the part number is A2218300672.

Are there documentation for the location of this sensor and perhaps how to get to it?

If there is a site in the forums for it please direct me to the right direction.

Thanks!

A2218300672 is correct for in car temperature sensor b10/4. Remove cover below dash may need to remove EIS to gain better access: https://mbworld.org/forums/s-class-w...ml#post8247600 - future reference see attachment & star finder: http://benz.ehost.tj/221/webetm/webe...rt_finder.html

Arrie, by any chance did you look at the "in car temperature sensor", i.e. N70b1, located in the overhead control panel (OCP)?

Another thread in the W212 forum

https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...ml#post8413371

showed the iCarsoft scanner failed to report this temperature correctly while reviewing the HVAC module, but correctly when reviewing the OCP module.

I contacted iCarsoft (Barnett) for support on this, and they are working on it, but the log I sent is for W212 platform. The first attempt I tested this week still needs some work. Perhaps an additional log from another platform may help.

I will look again but I don't think the scanner reports anything in the overhead control module. All I remember is the different vents.

konigstiger,

Thanks again for the documents.

In my E550 there is a small round air intake hole left of the ignition switch. In this S550 it is a red small dot. I always wondered what it is as there is no hole in it for pulling air in. Is it like infrared sensor or something like that?

Access is from below then, right?
