Has anyone experienced this issue in 2012 S550? Could not turn bulb off. Next morning battery was dead. Jumped car and took it to my mechanic and he removed bulb. Several days later battery went dead again after car set for 3 days. Can someone tell me what is the function of this bulb, or what may be causing the problem.

What position is your light switch in? Make sure it is in the straight up O (off) position. If you go left of that, it leaves "parking lights" on.
Only removable bulbs are backup lamps. I assume no moisture was found when independent pulled bulb. Could be bulb mount needs replacement or rear lighting originates @ rear SAM, pull and check connectors & pins.
