Looking to buy
Hey everyone I’m looking to buy a 2010-11 s550. Has anyone had any major problems with them? Also what are things I should out for? My budget is 20k should I look at a different model for the price range? I’m in my early 20’s so I’m not looking for something completely draining on the wallet which I know is playing with fire looking at older German cars. Thanks guys!
p.s. I was looking at the CLA 250 since they’re in the same price range, however < v8 haha

2008 S550 base
Budget for repairs and maintenance, budget for premium fuel. Purchased mine in August and already spent $1500 on DIY repairs and maintenance the first two months, double that if you hire a Indy mechanic, triple for dealer work. Just be prepared, don't overextend yourself financially. Also don't be afraid of the 2008+ model years. There are a lot more of them available so much more favorable prices and selection.

2015 SL550 & 2012 S550 4matic
Do your homework on the car , detail service records are a must. These cars like new parts. My case..Purchased 2012 s550 4matic with 97k 2 years ago. 1 owner dealer maintained. Cost 20k for a 130k car when new, Designo paint and leather Bang and Olefsen rear seat package etc. 1st year costs 1500 for new motor and transmission mounts and winter wheels and tires used 600. 2nd year 1000 for lower control arm in front suspension. I changed oil and put 2 new speed sensors on front wheels DIY. With 113k on it now, I’m happy it lives within my 2k per year maintenance budget. My insurance put a new MB windshield in recently, 2500.. One thing good about these used cars is you have relatively low depreciation costs.
