Coat Hook

Sure enough, I checked and there is an empty space for the second hook so I went to the MB dealer and bought the hook. Took out the one plastic plug that held the top liner up and installed the hook so now I have two hooks in my trunk.
Part number 212-810-00-40-9B27
Cost a whopping $14+tax from the dealer!!
The hook comes with the installation expanding square tabs so it installs the same way the handle in the roof liner at the doors.
Mercedes saves a ton of money not including two of these very handy hooks in cars for our market area. Wonder if there are two hooks in Canadian cars?

This hook thing is by far the best "cargo net" anybody can wish for. One double hook easily holds 10 grocery bags or whatever you want to hang. Keeps stuff from rolling in the trunk.
Very low cost item from the dealer. I originally ordered screws with it as the part description did not say if it has them. Came with four screws that cost $22 !!! I returned those when I saw the installation hardware was already in the part. And this part is made in Germany too. Can't believe the pricing so low for this.
It must be same weird reason not having two hooks given the fact that W212 pre facelift US Spec cars didn't come with the power folding mirrors unlike their Canadian versions .I mean Canadian or EU Specs came with that option .

Hopefully Big Brother isn’t listening.. hooks and hooker and hooking devices can get confusing..then throw in low cost..and..hopefully no one gets in trouble and all packages in trunk can be safely delivered.
Thanks for the tip, using one hook can only be made better by two.
