door ambience light?

the passenger side rear door on my 2012 s550 ambient lighting is NOT working like everywhere else. I suspect it wasn't working when I purchased it in April but didn't notice it till later. Is there a known fault that leads to this situation? I haven't found anything relating to this failure, and, The Star system hasn't triggered any fault codes that I've seen.

Assuming you mean interior lights on door panels, Yes, have same issue on driver side rear door, but only on 2 colors. Works on amber, not blue, etc. DAS says ground issue. Since I am happy with amber I have not bothered to tear the door apart. Check your grounds "?

Does it require to remove the door panel to get to the ambient light strips? Mine are rattling bad and I want to add some cushion inside to stop the annoying rattle.

It is what I was worried about. The whole door panel has to be removed for access to the light strip.

Not to worry, not an overwhelming job. I just did my Sl R230, driver door panel removal in order to replace a broken metal part in the door handle. Very similar procedure.

Be be sure to use your wedge on the panel clasps as directed. They can break.

Keep us posted.
