Interior Shipping Question

Hello all. This is not a thread specific to the W221, but I have been posting this on various forums and you all have been helpful in the past so I figured why not? I currently own a 2012 S550. Bit of a project of mine. I found a Designo interior that I plan on swapping into my car. Purchased on eBay and the link to it is below. Seller is pickup only, resides in Boca Raton, FL. I am in Scottsdale, AZ. Basically I am looking for the parts to be picked up and shipped to me. Has anyone done something like this before? Any suggestions where to start? I reached out to a freight company but there were of little help. Thanks to anyone that can help!!

Bold DIY, lots of challenge in this one after the parts arrive. I have not embarked on anything like your request so this is opinion only. You need: someone to crate these items in wood and cardboard shipping containers for a LTL (Less than Truck Load) trucking firm to haul from Fl to AZ. I suggest contacting freight companies and ask fo reference on car parts packagers. Salvage yards in the area may know people.

I’m actually not too concerned with the swap itself. I’ve had the dash out on my S550 aside from the top portion, but from my research it’s not much more work. I did a similar interior swap on my old LS430 and it’s more tedious than anything. The Designo bits are going to make a huge difference. Plan to end up with a mix of W221 parts eventually. I’m pulling the pillars and headliners from a junkyard S550 and having it wrapped in faux alcantara. Would like a set of AMG seats from an S63. The final bit is going to be an three spoke AMG steering wheel from a W222. There’s a few companies overseas that do retrofits. The newer AMG steering wheels feel excellent in the hands. Makes a huge difference.

I looked into that as well but could not find anyone that could do it. I even spoke to some of these guys in Latvia that only sell steering wheels on ebay. They couldn't do it either. They can make my existing one thicker and more ergonomic nut can not change the shape due to the airbag. Do you happen to have a source that you can share? Thank you in advance!

Hey Joe, Glad to hear you are up for the job, you’ll love the leather and trims. I’m grateful mine came from the factory. What about sound systems? Looks like those new panels have interesting speaker covers.
