Engine cranks but not start
S320 2009 diesel
My co2 emission was high and MOT guy gave me injector cleaner what I put for a half tank of diesel(they said dont need full tank) and advised me to take out to motorway.
After 10 min driving in motorway I heard some noise in engine so I came off,Soon as I stop in traffic lights the car stopped and cant start since then.
We tested the injectors, all working fine.Checked fuel pressure,up to the filter is fine but after in the high pressure pipes/tube is creating air also is coming smoke and air from overflow pipe.
The guy in the garage recommend to take for testing the high pressure pump but if is no problem with the high pressure pump then he say have to change the engine.
What is your opinion?
Thank you
get codes read on decent diagnostics and see what it says - all the live info on injection system's pumps and pressures will be there - sounds like the guy doesn't have the right kit - hope he didn't give u bad info on addatives
Is possible to read the codes and check pressure info if the car is not starts at all?
He have diagnostic tools but he taked off the high pressure pump and I have to take to a garage where they gonna test
,I did the same with injectors as well
I doubt the petrol one is that nasty but tractors run crazy fuel pressures and petrol cleaner won't be so kind on the system
I don't know if the high pressure pump will show with it not running - I expect it does or how will it ever start - the days of an old piston type mechanical pump are long gone - they run 350 bar these days (that's lots in old world PSI units)
