NAV DVD Update
For my '12 S350 I'm looking to update the maps and I noticed that the latest DVD available (v14), BQ6460341 is much cheaper than others at the dealer. Only $45 vs $150-200. Am I missing something here? Is this the wrong DVD?

Is this for USA? I would like to know as well as I have a 2013 S550 USA If that is the same dvd or if it needs a different version?

on the NTG 3.0 comand unit 2006 to 2009 the Map disc just works and are expensive
on the NTG 3.5 comand unit 2010 to 2013 the discs are cheap as without the expensive PIN they do nothing
you will both be disappointed they gave up new mapping for USA in 2015

the dealer will sell both the disc and the PIN
or you can scout out how to do things by other ways...
a cute other method that wasn't out year's back is to add a clever modern box of tricks that allows lots of features like a modern car would have
with carplay (wireless) or not sure why but only wired on android you can use on live mapping services but see, move around the system and hear on the car (and get BT music streaming)

one guy here did it and it worked... not quite plug and play (a few hours worrying you'll wreck it, but its do-able) ...there is very little space to get things in the hole and the manu says hide it under passenger side... way before this was out the merc Ipod interface is a nightmare to fit - sitting under the comand and I couldn't get the comand unit back in... too many wires, too little space... usual car radio car crash of can't get fingers there in or see what's stopping it going back together

my command NTG 3.0. Sometimes it play mp3 and sometimes it not. When it not the car reads the MP3s correctly (title name.mp3) but it won't play. I hear nothing and the tracks to not move (time) until I on/off key several time.
any idea what is wrong?

the map update ALWAYS says that
just push it back in and say sure you know best - and it will load takes 45 mins - add powerful charger or follow instructions and leave it idling

I have installed a Joyeauto Carplay unit (WJME-3S) in my car and I don't have a USB outlet in the glove compartment. It was a bit of a fiddle getting the wires sorted so that I could get the head unit back but it can be done. I brought the USB socket out into the passenger footwell. Not perfect but not very intrusive. Installing the microphone was also tricky but easier than I expected. I bought a new plastic plate to fit in front of the roof light unit, very cheap and drilled it to take the microphone. The installation was plug and play; no wires to cut so the car can be returned to original if necessary. The unit works well; exceeded expectations! My only criticism is that the Sat Nav occasionally lags behind reality; this is because of poor satellite reception; the phone is just laying on the dash. I'm thinking about how I could install a better antenna but probably not bad enough to justify the effort. I was in an area of poor phone reception a few weeks back; the SatNav gave up. To be fair even outside the car with the phone it wouldn't work either.
