Just bought a 2009 and I want Bluetooth audio (via aux and a bovee 1000 or similar). However I don't have an aux option in the menu. I have a white ipod cable and 3 cable rca input in my glove boxDoes this mean I have to pay a dealer to activate the aux menu option?

the cars were made with NOTHING - but had a hidden Aux input
an option kit bodging on a very expensive ipod interface kit added apple input over clunky steering wheel button and speedo cluster view using the hidden aux - it was really quiet and broke the rear camera working in low light
a much rarer ipod 2 fixed the vol and the camera
then late 2007 they just bodged on audio input via phono sockets in the glove box - I believe it has NO control and NO menu structure visible on the car
pre 2010 there was NO phone BT call capability available (but an option phone system could swap the handset and an addon could do BT calls ONLY
2010 model year cars got a new head unit that looks the same but isn't. They got BT phone option, but it can't do music streaming (but at least the comand screen and knob linked up to a later aux in that uses a proprietary socket in the glove box)
you need to know if you have NTG 3.0 or NTG 3.5 but if you have phono its sounds like NTG 3.0 OR what you typed is referring to what's on the end of dangling wires and you have a strange socket they plug into on the car....

Basically I'm trying to figure out if I need to chase down a STAR computer to activate something so I can get music in my car. FM transmitter that this came with is not an acceptable option.

within comand menu along the top find and highlight Audio (second one in) press down the comand knob - you get a choice of what you can play with, the bottom after Radio, Sirus, MP3 etc. should be Aux (if its "turned on")
or you could try video and do the same (I don't have the 3 phono sockets) so can't say what should happen - they did make an owners manual for you to read

Yes I have checked that- only FM/Am, DVD Audio, CD, and MP3 available in my Audio menu. Nothing is available in my video menu. I assume Aux is not turned on but that is really odd considering it has an ipod cable in the gloveboxOriginally Posted by BOTUS

maybe some idiot swapped your broken comand unit for another one and didn't code it to the car correctly
its 10 mins to turn it on - but u need the kit
