Importing 2008 S450 from Canada to USA letter of compliance

Hi All! I am currently visiting Canada and happened to find/ fall in love with a 2008 S450. Apparently this model was Canadian specific being a short base s class. I was hoping if anyone has had experience importing this car in to the states, since Mercedes over here is being difficult giving a letter of compliance. It seems it would be easy since the EPA label is compliant and the speedometer is digital and can be switched over to miles per hour. Any feedback would be highly appreciated.

Does it have any radar sensors? Those will not be allowed across the border due to different radar frequency range.

I've driven to Canada with my S550, how is this any different?

My car has the PDC sensors, no other radar. Would that be an issue?

I have not checked my S550 manual but my E550 manual states that if I would drive my car to Canada I would have to turn my radars OFF. Of course the radars work the same regardless where the car is but Canada has different radar frequency band allowed for use with cars etc. so you could get ticketed driving radar sensors ON in Canada with a US market car. I would think thus same rule goes in the other direction across the border.

Buying a car in Canada with radar sensors might be impossible to get registered in US.

Now, it could be the car makers way to keep cars from being sold across the border too, that I don’t know.

in the manual it talks about affecting military kit - so try not to set of any nuclear weapons putting on your cruise control
the early ones get 5 radars if you have distronic plus, there is a cluster user menu to turn them off - and a developer lever menu to disable see the other post and the excel file

I wonder if BLIS is available but not enabled on cars with all the radars... but you do see there extra antenna in the rear wings from inside the boot trim
