SubscribeHi all,
in desperate need to get the telltale symbols of my car (2008 S450) converted to USA spec. Apparently the Brake Symbol has to be replaced with the word Brake. It’s doable since the cluster is completely digital. Any help would be appreciated.
thanks

its doable but Merc software flashing isn't BMW flashing (anyone can get all BMW coding tools and software today in about an hour and flash anything they like at their cars) - finding Merc files is now really hard work. It stopped being inside Merc dealer tools in 2012 and back then was a flaky wobbly tool that liked to misbehave. Today its all different and its now all locked up away from fiddling fingers. And of course in the 221 cluster is half of what makes the car's work - so do it wrong and it will be properly broken
It's why I recommended the guy I did, in your last post. Maybe you can find a competent garage with the tool and can connect up on line to the guru to get it done..... There is something call SCN coding. Its the Merc way to ensure the software was valid and approved to each specific vehicle and after the flash, it then configured to suite the original Build and reports back to Merc if it worked right. - but you don't want original build - so few will have a clue how to help
